Professional work can sometimes involve early starts, travel, overnight stays or periods away from home. Understanding how these arrangements work can help you and your child feel more prepared and confident.

The Call Sheet: This lists the "Call Time" (when to arrive) and the location, as well as what’s happening on the day so that you can help your child to prepare.
Touring: For theatre tours, children may travel and stay in hotels or alternative accommodation with chaperones. Parents usually do not stay in the same accommodation to maintain the production's routine and to maintain safety for all the children involved in the production.
- Usually there are multiple teams of children in touring productions and so are likely to do a week (or two) away from home and then a week (or two) back at home.
Filming accommodation: Production companies will arrange accommodation which will either be with parents or with chaperones and can be for a long period of time depending on the length of the shoot and contract.
Safety First: Always check the travel arrangements provided. If you are driving your child, you can often claim travel expenses (keep the receipts).
Always have the contact number for the person dropping your child off if you are not picking them up.
