Jo Hawes 

We are sad to inform you that Jo Hawes passed away yesterday after a short illness.

Many of you with have contact with Jo over the years as she was one of the main children co-ordinators for West End shows in London that then toured the U.K. and Ireland. She has worked on many shows such as Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Les Mis and recently on Newsies. 

She received a BAFTA for her work in the last few years and I know from talking to her that she was very proud of it but felt it was shared with the children she has worked with over the years and she worked with many thousands of children's over the year.  

She also wrote various books on stagecraft as well as organising training for the industry on child performers mental health which many of us attended.  

Jo was a well-known and respected within the industry and she was a great champion of children performers. 

She will be sadly missed by many people and we send our deepest sympathy to Tim, her husband, and her family.
